Golden Brands 454 Coconut Soy Wax brings together the best of two popular plant-based waxes to create a superb single-pour choice for container candles and tealights. Coconut wax is increasingly in demand due to its excellent glass adhesion, frost resistance, smooth tops, and strong hot throw. This blended coconut wax produces a creamy, off-white candle with a hot throw a bit stronger than soy wax alone. While the ratio of coconut to soy is proprietary, we can share that soy is the dominant wax. This wax comes in flake form for easy measuring and requires no additives. Just like other Golden Brands waxes, the wax is made with USA-grown soybeans and is manufactured in the USA. Candle Maker’s Notes: Wicking is the biggest challenge we’ve experienced with 454. We strongly suggest reviewing the Lab Notes for a detailed breakdown of where to start with wicking your container. Our Wick Guide will also help point you in the right direction! Sinkholes, craters, and other similar concerns are often fixed by adjusting the pour temperature. We recommend starting with a pouring temperature of 170��F (76.7��C), but you may need to adjust based on your individual maker space. We recommend adjusting by +/-5��F (2.8��C) at a time to find the right pouring temperature for your space and candles.
